LEWISTON, N.Y. — Filling equipment maker Jaguar Packaging Inc. of Lewiston has formed a license agreement with flexible packaging makers Pliant Corp. and Printpack Inc.
Jaguar's equipment is used with patented Standzip pre-made resealable bags, which can be filled through the bottom at speeds of 75 bags per minute.
The deal will focus on making pouches and filling equipment for the bakery, frozen-food, coffee, snack and pet-food markets.
With $900 million in sales, Atlanta-based Printpack is one of the largest flexible packaging converters in the United States. Schaumburg, Ill.-based Pliant, formerly Huntsman Packaging Corp., is a major producer of packaging films, with reported annual sales of $820 million.
