The largest sheet molding compound recycler in North America closed because of low demand for the recycled materials. Owens Corning, owner of the plant in Oakville, Ontario, wrote the plant off at a cost of about $500,000.
Van Dorn Demag Corp. finalized the purchase of injection press maker Newbury Industries Inc. The deal launched Van Dorn into vertical injection presses used for insert molding.
