WALKER, MICH. — Polyethylene bag and packaging film maker A-Pac Manufacturing Co. is creating a new blown film business in Walker.
The new sister company, Eagle Film Extruders Inc., will support converters including A-Pac, said Ruth Zeoli, A-Pac marketing director.
The new, 9,000-square-foot Eagle plant is next to A-Pac's site, Zeoli said.
The plant will feature a Varex extrusion line from Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp.
Construction should be complete by June, and the $1.5 million W&H system will be installed and operational by August.
"We will be able to produce film that isn't produced here as of now," Zeoli said. "We're pretty excited about the idea."
Eagle will produce polyethylene films for printing, laminating and bag converting markets at an annual capacity of 3.5 million pounds, Zeoli said.
