BROOKINGS, S.D.—Injection molder Falcon Plastics Inc. has added 10,000 square feet to its Madison, S.D., plant and a used Bekum single-head blow molding machine.
The Brookings-based firm will use the new space, completed in January, mainly for warehousing. The plant, now 40,000 square feet, had exclusively supplied a Toshiba Corp. toner-products unit but is introducing other customers into the plant to become more of a custom operation, said Jay Bender, who shares the duties of chief operating officer with his brother Guy.
In May the Madison plant, which operates 12 presses, will begin working with the Bekum for a new customer needing blow molding services, said Bender, who sees opportunities in that process for other customers.
Falcon projects sales of about $18 million for the fiscal year ending April 30.
