ITW Plexus debuts low-odor adhesives
ITW Plexus has expanded its structural adhesives product line, including types for engineering plastics.
Its new 900 series are low-odor products based on methacrylates and designed for engineering polymers, fiber-reinforced plastics, metals and dissimilar materials. The Danvers, Mass., firm claims the products have 90 percent less odor, which will help ITW Plexus expand the methacrylates' use beyond traditional markets in automotive and marine applications.
The company also added low-shrink Plexus adhesives to its methacrylate line. They are well suited to bond partly cured composites, thin-wall thermoplastics and thin metals. The two-part systems require little or no surface preparation.
