Reifenhauser sells machinery to Pliant
IPSWICH, MASS. - Reifenhauser Inc. of Ipswich has sold five surface/center gap winders to Pliant Corp.'s blown film factory in Danville, Ky.
The winders can handle film up to 59 inches in diameter. They feature fully automated roll handling and adhesive-less transfer capability.
Nextrom, Dreisten form partnership
SCHOPFHEIM, GERMANY - Swiss extruder maker Nextrom Holding SA has formed a technology partnership with Dreisten-Werk in Schopfheim for machinery to make aluminum/plastic composite pipe, with layers of plastic fused to layers of aluminum.
Nextrom wants to sell its pipe machinery unit as part of its strategy, announced late last year, to focus on equipment for fiber optics.
Dreisten makes roll-forming machines and tube mills, machines that produce metal tubes and profiles.
The aluminum/plastic composite pipe is becoming more widely accepted for home heating, water supply and gas utilities, the companies said.
Davis-Standard offers its equipment online
PAWCATUCK, CONN. - Davis-Standard Corp. has joined the world of online machinery sales.
The Pawcatuck-based company now offers some stock equipment for sale in its Web site, www.davis-standard.com. Customers can see descriptions and photographs of in-stock equipment in a system that is updated regularly.
The online sales program offers downstream tubing and profile equipment, such as extruders, pullers, cutter/puller machines, vacuum sizing tanks and cutters.
