For companies wanting information on creating or expanding workplace substance-abuse programs, several federal Web sites offer a good starting point:
www.health.org/workplace. A fairly new site from the Department of Health and Human Services that offers information kits on creating workplace programs and facts and figures on the problem.
www.dol.gov/dol/workingpartners.htm. An informational site from the Department of Labor's group, Working Partners for an Alcohol- and Drug-Free Workplace. The site seeks to raise awareness about the impact of workplace substance abuse and provides information for businesses wanting to start a program.
www.sba.gov/news/drugfree. Information on a grant program from the U.S. Small Business Administration that funds organizations to help small businesses create a program. It includes a list of groups that have been funded across the United States.
