Plast-Control Inc. of Newburyport, Mass., is introducing its Pro-Scan, noncontact, non-nuclear scanning gauge, for checking blown film, sheet, pipe and tubing.
Two traversing measurement sensors, one located on each side of the sheet, measure thickness. Thickness is calculated to an accuracy of 1 micron, the company said.
Also, infrared detection sensors measure sheet width.
The standard frame provided with the Pro-Scan comes in either a rigid O-frame or a C-frame structure, for measuring sheets from 31 inches to 47 inches wide. An O-frame structure also is available to handle sheets from 47-78 inches wide.
