Aoki Technical Laboratory Inc. of Nagano, Japan, has upgraded its conventional injection stretch blow molding machine with a new actuator design, and other improvements to shorten cycle time.
The name of the machine: SB III-500LL-75. The press can mold any size of narrow-neck bottle.
The actuator now has an alternating-current servomotor for the turntable movement, which Aoki claims is an industry first.
For mold opening and closing, Aoki has replaced the conventional two-step method with simultaneous operation.
A rack-and-pinion mechanism synchronizes blow mold opening and closing.
On the injection end, Aoki said injection pressure was increasded by 25 percent.
Aoki's U.S. operation is in Elk Grove Village, Ill.
