HPG INTERNATIONAL INC. - Jim Tremoulis was named director of sales of the Flexible Film Products Division for the Somerset, N.J.-based plastics manufacturer, with calendering and extrusion film and sheet operations. Tremoulis previously served as marketing director and business market manager for the engineered films business of PolyOne Corp.
HT TROPLAST AG - The Troisdorf, Germany, processor has appointed two new directors to its management board: Thomas Buttner, who has taken over joint responsibility for the firm's profile activities, and Detlef Fahlbusch, who is its new industrial relations director. Buttner was a director of HT Troplast's sister company Rutgers VFT AG. Fahlbusch was North Rhine/Westphalia state head of the German trades union IG-Bergbau-Chemie-Energie in Dusseldorf and worked for the union since 1996. The firm announced other responsibilities in the management restructuring, which followed Troplast's acquisition of Germany's top window profile producer Kommerling Kunststoff GmbH. Hans Werner Kleffner takes charge of the company's Trosifol films for glass lamination. The fourth board member, Johannes Josef Klein, took charge of subsidiary Trocellen GmbH, which produces cross-linked polyethylene foams and Trolit nonflammable, rigid, inorganic foam.
KALSI PLASTICS (UK) LTD. - The British building products molder has appointed Malcolm Norton group general sales manager. He will head a newly formed division, Kalsi Group Branded Products, to promote sales of its extended product range. Norton, with 16 years' experience in the windows industry, joins Kalsi after working more recently in the cellular foam products area.
LOW & BONAR PLC - The London-based materials supplier and rotational molding company named its senior nonexecutive director and former investment banker Duncan Clegg as its new chairman. Clegg, who has been on the company's board since 1994, replaces chairman John Robinson, who resigned to take up the chairmanship of Britain's railway network operator Railtrack plc. Bonar also appointed Jon Kempster finance director to replace Norman McLeod, who resigned after holding the post since 1990 and serving with the group since 1977.
NATIONAL INVENTORS HALL OF FAME - The Akron, Ohio, institution, which recognizes the role of inventors and inventions in daily life, will induct the inventors of polypropylene and the first low-pressure process for high density polyethylene, Robert Banks and J. Paul Hogan. The two chemists, who will be honored with a permanent exhibit, made their discovery in 1951 while trying to convert natural gas byproducts into gasoline additives.
SONY DISC MANUFACTURING - Cliff Wright was appointed manager of business unit operations for the Springfield, Ore., facility of this Sony Corp.-owned full-service producer of prerecorded optical discs.
TREND TECHNOLOGIES INC. - Chuck Beck was appointed general manager of the Round Rock, Texas, plant, and Tim Veenbaas was named general manager of the Elk Grove Village, Ill., facility. Trend, based in San Jose, Calif., makes integrated enclosures for high-end computer networking and communications applications.
TROSTEL SEG - Steve Jenkins was named director of sales and marketing for the Lake Geneva, Wis.-based insert and dual-shot custom injection molder.
VPI MIRREX CORP. - The Delaware City, Del., manufacturer of vinyl film for the health-care, electronics and general packaging markets named Peter Itzel plant manager for the Delaware City rigid films plant.
