LEXINGTON, OHIO - Next Packaging Films Inc. is expanding with two new extrusion lines.
The Lexington-based firm currently is installing a Windmoeller & Hoelscher blown film line and in a few weeks will take delivery of an Alpine line, Next President David Frecka said in a telephone interview. He did not disclose the cost of the expansion.
The machinery will bring Next's count to eight blown film lines, seven of which are Alpine models.
The latest Alpine is rated at 500 pounds per hour and will make multilayer film as wide as 60 inches. Next boosted floor space to 70,000 square feet last year to accommodate the expansion. In 2002 it will add another 40,000 square feet, according to Frecka, who also owns the firm.
Seven-year-old Next makes multilayer packaging film for specialty shipping uses. It also converts part of its output into bags.
