BASF AG - The Ludwigshafen, Germany, chemical and polymers company announced changes to its executive management board as well as appointments in the plastics and fibers segment. Group board changes include the choice of Eggert Voscherau as industrial relations director. He replaces Helmut Becks, who takes on the Asian region, while Stefan Marcinowski takes on South America. Meanwhile, the company named Raimar Jahn head of automotive original equipment manufacturer coatings at BASF Corp. of Southfield, Mich., to head the newly formed performance polymers division, which includes the engineering plastics, fibers and Ultraplast businesses. In August, Fred Baumgartner, head of engineering plastics, takes on the company's new styrenics division while styrenic polymers head Werner Pratorius takes over the group's petrochemicals division at the end of 2001.
COLLINS & AIKMAN CORP. - The Troy, Mich., supplier of automotive fabric, interior trim and convertible-top systems has announced a new product marketing management team, including Hal Rogers, vice president of product marketing management; Steve Sehmer, director of product management for accessory mats & acoustics; Frank Olejniczak, director of product management for plastics; and Gene Turbeville, director of product management for U.S. and Canadian carpet and acoustics.
DSM NV - The Heerlen, Netherlands, supplier of performance materials, polymers and industrial chemicals has announced two appointments. Ben van Kooten, former director of DSM Engineering Plastic Products, is director of DSM Elastomers division. He replaced Paul Hamm, who is director of a new business group, DSM Corporate Venturing & Business Development.
FABRI-KAL CORP. - Wayne Smith was named vice president of manufacturing for the Kalamazoo, Mich.-headquartered private thermoformer of plastic packaging. Smith was previously operations manager of Ivex Packaging Corp. of Grove City, Pa.
QENOS PTY. LTD. - Ross McCann has been appointed managing director of the Melbourne, Australia-based joint venture between Exxon Mobil Ltd.'s Kemcor Australia Pty. Ltd. and Orica Ltd. Qenos manufactures polyethylene, polypropylene and engineering plastics. McCann replaces Robert Fairley, founding managing director, at the end of July. McCann has 30 years' experience in Australian manufacturing and was previously an executive with Melbourne-based chemicals manufacturer ICI (Aust.) Ltd.
ROMEO RIM INC. - The Romeo, Mich.-headquartered manufacturer of reaction injection molded components for the heavy truck, agricultural and construction equipment markets named Phil Whisman president and chief executive officer. Whisman, with more than 20 years' executive management experience, was most recently executive vice president of Ventra Plastics Inc.
