Sonitek Corp. of Milford, Conn., has developed a two-position rotary heat-staking machine.
A two-position rotary table allows the operator to complete assembly in the loading station, while the machine is simultaneously staking another part. Other features include optical-touch palm buttons to reduce operator fatigue and caster wheels so the machine can be moved.
A quick-change feature for the upper tooling assembly lets the operator change the head assembly with no need for extra tools, even while the assembly is hot. The dial-plate also is easy to remove, so the technician can change part-holding fixtures fast.
A pneumatic pre-clamping assembly keeps the part from moving.
In another recent development, Sonitek introduced a line of ultrasonic welders built by Branson Ultrasonics Corp. exclusively for Sonitek. The S-800 series of welder adds to Sonitek's line of heat staking and thermal press machines.
