Robot maker Motoman Inc. has introduced Version 3.0 of its MotoCal software, now allowing technicians to re-calibrate an entire robotic work cell, including robot arms, end-of-arm tooling and fixtures.
MotoCal can identify subtle “as-built” differences in robots and then filters programs to greatly reduce the need for manual touch-up work as programs are downloaded, moved or adjusted when robots are repaired.
The company in Dayton, Ohio, also issued Version 6.2 of its personal computer-based simulation software, renaming the ROTSY product MotoSim. The software reduces programming time, as the user can see a virtual robot system with clear, three-dimensional graphics. The robot can be viewed from any angle. The software calculates cycle times and displays velocities for each robot axis.
