Raytek Corp., which makes noncontact temperature controllers, introduced a device for thermoforming dubbed the TF100 System.
The TF100 monitors the temperature distribution of the sheet, reducing setup time and scrap and improving quality. It measures temperature of a sheet as it leaves the oven, while being transported to the forming section.
The data is transmitted to a personal computer.
Raytek of Santa Cruz, Calif., said the system can be used within minutes after the process imager is installed.
The system subdivides the data into any number of rectangular zones, corresponding to zones in the oven.
