WORMS, GERMANY (Sept. 4, 5 p.m. EDT) — At K 2001, Kiefel Extrusionstechnik GmbH will show a high-end coextrusion line for blown film, and will exhibit together with Wintech Winding Technology AG, the Swiss company Kiefel bought last fall.
The Worms company (Hall 17, Stand B 41), also will introduce a line for making single-layer film from high density polyethylene.
In Wintech products, Kiefel will show a surface/center/gap winder, integrated into the coextrusion line. Features include a patented CLP2 system (which stands for constant lay-on pressure), and a vacuum contact roller that enables winding with mimimal web tension.
K show visitors also will learn about Kiefel's new brand name: Kirion. According to the company, the Kirion automation system guarantees reproducible film quality and the shortest changeover times. Machine functions, such as resin metering and gauge profile control, are linked via a CAN-Bus protocol, to a touch-screen control panel. That means that the machine operator can see all the process parameters at all times.
