Croda Universal Ltd. is offering a new torque- and mold-release agent for bottled-water closures.
The firm claims its Incroslip C has superior taste and odor properties that are especially important for bottled-water applications. Torque-release agents are added to bottle caps and cap liners to make it easier for consumers to open tightly sealed bottles.
Croda said Incroslip C can replace existing additives with minimal reformulation. It is vegetable-based and meets Food and Drug Administration requirements. Croda will debut the additive at the K 2001 exhibition in Dusseldorf, Germany, in October.
Croda, based in Cowick Hall, England, is represented in the United States by Croda Universal Inc. of Parsippany, N.J.
