LINCOLN, R.I. (Oct. 1, 1:30 p.m. EDT) — Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp. is making a habit of selling its trade show machines to Charter Films Inc.
Last year, Charter Films bought the Varex blown film line from W&H's booth at NPE 2000 in Chicago. At the upcoming K 2001 show in Dusseldorf, Germany, Charter will purchase one of two extrusion systems shown at the W&H booth (Hall 17, Stand A 59).
The K show machine will be the fourth Varex line for the filmmaker in Superior, Wis.
The machine running at K is equipped with three extruders. Features include a new 11-inch die with a redesigned melt passage section, so the melt has just a short residence time in the die. After the show, the machine will be equipped with a 16-inch die before being shipped to Charter Films.
The blown film line is equipped with the Optifil P-2 automatic film-gauge profile control.
At the show, the machine will incorporate a Filmatic K surface winder. Charter's line will use a Filmatic dual turret winder.
W&H is based in Lincoln.
