DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY (Oct. 18, 9:30 a.m. EDT) — The Global Business Council of the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. has canceled the Oct. 29 luncheon it had planned to hold at the K 2001 trade show in Dusseldorf.
“Global Supplier Relationships: What Lies Ahead?” was to feature Helmut Eschwey, chairman of plastics machinery giant SMS Plastics Technology, as keynote speaker. Eschwey also is president of the K show.
SPI hoped to attract U.S. executives and visitors to the luncheon, but said it had difficulty attracting enough paid attendees in light of current travel conditions and security concerns. Plastics News and ACS Group were co-sponsors of the event.
