As an unsecured creditor and victim of the sweetheart deal put together by Orange Plastics and the president of Joseph Edward Co. (“Orange Plastics buys bag maker Joseph Edward,” Oct. 8, Page 1), I am sickened by the quote “Management [in Kentucky] has run the place very well.”
This is a slap in the face to those of us who sold resin, equipment, etc., and didn't get paid.
It is bad enough that many of us were victims of this crime. But then to pour salt in the wound, by publicly stating, “Management has run the place very well” is unbelievable.
If Joseph Edward Co. was run so well, then why could it not prosper while receiving millions of dollars' worth of raw material and other goods for free?
Also, I am not surprised that the purchase price was not released. That figure is truly unbelievable.
Plastics News is a quality publication. I am not critical of PN, but I am disgusted by the quote made by an Orange Plastics employee.
