West Pharmaceutical Services Inc. featured its trademarked Clip'n'Ject system at Medical Design & Manufacturing West. The simplified system enables a patient or nonprofessional caregiver to administer lyophilized injectable drug products. Clip'n'Ject components do not touch the drug. West molds and assembles the components in Montgomery, Pa., individually packaging each system in a thermoformed tray with a Tyvek lid. Materials include polycarbonate for the clear connector, polypropylene for the plunger rod and pharmaceutical-grade glass for the syringe. The connector links the syringe, pre-filled with a diluent, to a standard vial for reconstitution of the drug.
