Horn Plastics Inc. is moving into a new C$6 million (US$3.8 million) facility for its injection molding and tool-building operations.
The Whitby-based firm started construction on the 90,000-square-foot building last summer. The previously announced new plant replaces two facilities that Horn used to lease in Whitby. Marketing manager Ron Irani said Horn would complete the move Feb. 25.
The relocation will make the company's molding, assembly and mold-building operations more flexible because of a better plant layout, he said.
Horn molds thermoplastic parts and silicone rubber components, mainly for business machines, automotive, medical and electronics. It runs about 40 injection presses.
