Sailor USA Inc. has introduced a lower-price line of robots, the Alpha Series. Prices start at $29,900 for a three-axis robot; a five-axis unit starts at $33,900.
The prices include adjustable end-of-arm tooling; a parts vacuum circuit; a mechanical chuck circuit; a color, icon-driven touch pendant; plus installation and training.
Sailor, based in Kennesaw, Ga., demonstrated the Alpha robot at the MassPlastics 2002 show in Fitchburg.
Sales manager Doc Berger said creating an economically priced robot was the goal during product development. The Alphas have the full quality and functionality of other Sailor robots, he said.
Alpha robots also feature Sailor's Smart Robot Technology package. Vibration-surpressing servo controls ensure fast, accurate parts removal, according to the company.
The robot analyzes the molding machine processes and automatically optimizes the robot's speeds and timers.
Parts and runner samples can be collected according to count, batch or lot mode and delivered to a secondary location.
Sailor USA is a unit of Sailor Pen Co. Ltd.'s Robotics Division, based in Tokyo.
