Processors and mold makers interested in learning more about implementing lean manufacturing principles can do so at a Sept. 17 management conference being co-presented by the Indianapolis-based Mid-American Plastics Partners Inc. and Plastics News.
The topic will be the focus of one of three concurrent discussion tracks at the Management Day conference that will accompany the Sept. 17-19 Plastics Encounter Indianapolis trade show at the Indiana Convention Center.
Discussion leaders for that track will be: Mark Ferguson, molding technology manager for Bullard, a Cynthiana, Ky., molder and assembler of protection products such as fire helmets; Alan Gross, operations director for custom injection molder Webster Plastics in Fairport, N.Y.; and Ron Pleasant, president of Pleasant Precision Inc., a maker of molds and mold components in Kenton, Ohio.
They will discuss how they have adapted and applied lean principles to their operations, including selling the concept internally and measuring the results.
