Schenck AccuRate Inc. has picked up the SolidsFlow product line of feeders used by plastics compounders for feeding dry-chopped glass fibers.
The units use a one-piece vibratory feed-tray, specifically designed for glass. The design enables the natural matting effect of the fibrous material to seal itself within the feed tray — preventing flow and spillage when the drive is turned off.
Other features include no material arching or hang-ups in the hopper, minimized clumping, no need for flow-aid devices and no moving parts.
The flow rate can reach 3,000 cubic feet per hour.
The company is based in Whitewater, Wis.
