Plastics Logistics Group LLC has introduced a new line of consulting services to address the logistics of resin delivery and plant engineering for processors.
The Chicago firm offers expertise to address rail infrastructure, railcar unloading systems, storage silos, inventory management and pneumatic resin conveying.
“We are taking a comprehensive, one-stop-shop approach to the resin supply chain for processors,” said PLG President Graham Brisben.
For example, he said, the company can advise a processor looking at new rail service on issues such as track cost and layout, financing, conveying distances, silo specifications, preventing contamination and railcar safety.
PLG already works with major resin suppliers and distributors, such as GE Plastics and H. Muehlstein & Co. Inc.
Georges Karam, former vice president of engineering for German bulk materials handing equipment supplier Waeschle, is leading PLG's expansion into engineering services. Waeschle is owned by Coperion Holding GmbH.
