Accu-Form Plastics Inc., a thermoformer of aftermarket vehicle parts, has completed its move to Utah, where it is operating a plant in Hurricane.
The private firm makes dashboard covers called Dash-Caps and has diversified into replacement panels, armrests and other interior components for muscle cars such as the Camaro. The company thermoforms a variety of ABS sheet on its three production lines, including heat-resistant grades for Dash-Caps, said founder and Chief Executive Officer Don Olson.
Accu-Form moved from Rancho Cordova, Calif., several years ago to a temporary location in Nevada while it planned its 13,300-square-foot plant and office in Hurricane. Olson said California's high cost of doing business chased Accu-Form from the state.
Olson said Accu-Form spent about $500,000 to buy 21/2 acres of land for its new plant. It also opened a warehouse in Knoxville, Tenn., to handle sales in the East. The company markets through wholesale distributors and catalog outlets. Olson did not disclose sales.
