Plastics California, a political action committee, is contributing to six Republican candidates for the state Assembly.
In the Nov. 5 general election, there are ``not that many competitive races because of redistricting and negotiations between the involved parties,'' Bill Hall, PAC chairman, said by telephone. ``Districts are safer than they have ever been.''
The PAC's cash reserves of about $80,000 ``give us a solid footing and allow us to participate'' when opportunities materialize, said Hall, co-owner of Action Mold Co. in Anaheim, Calif.
The PAC allocated contributions to Greg Aghazarian of Stockton, Bonnie Garcia of Cathedral City, Shirley Horton of Bonita, Guy Houston of San Ramon, Sharon Runner of Lancaster and Steve Samuelian of Fresno.
In the March primaries, the Sacramento-administered PAC backed 13 Republicans and 12 Democrats. Only one of the candidates lost.
