Chase Willett worked 13 years for resin producer Eastman Chemical Co., both in the United States and in Southeast Asia, before joining Houston-based consultants CMAI in September 2000 in his current role. He started at Eastman in 1987 in plastic resin sales with responsibility for polyolefin, polyester specialty, hot-melt adhesives and cellulosic resins. In 1992 he joined Eastman's specialty plastics group as a global market manager for medical packaging. The following year he became product manager for polyester specialty plastics for the Americas and Europe with responsibilities for demand forecasting, product allocation and pricing.
In 1996 Willett relocated to Singapore to work in Eastman's Container Plastics Business organization as business unit manager for PET bottle resin in the Asia-Pacific. In this assignment he developed and executed strategies for the PET business in the region, including grass-root project analysis and negotiation of PET toll conversions. He also had responsibility for the day-to-day tactical aspects of the PET business such as sales, pricing, and product management along with profit and loss responsibility for the business unit.
