Bob Buesinger assumed his current duties after Chevron Corp. and Phillips Petroleum Co. combined their chemicals operations in a July 2000 joint venture that created Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. The new firm is North America's largest producer of high density polyethylene. Buesinger, based in Woodlands, Texas, is responsible for sales of 5 billion pounds a year of PE resins, including high density, low density, and linear low density grades.
Prior to the merger, he served as Chevron Chemicals' PE technology manager, heading catalyst research and development, pilot plants, product development and customer technical service. He also was significantly involved in technology licensing programs. Buesinger also previously worked for Gulf Chemical and Chevron in a variety of roles, including film technical service engineer, product development group leader, quality consultant and unit business manager.
