Austen Angell directs industrial design for Minneapolis-based Logic Product Development, which offers full design, engineering and systems integration services. He also recently was elected executive vice president of the Industrial Designers Society of America (www.idsa.org) in Dulles, Va., and is a founding trustee of the Design Foundation in Washington, D.C.
Prior to joining the 75-employee Logic in December 2000, he served for five years on the corporate planning team of Madison, Wis.-based thermoformer Placon Corp. as the concept development leader. He was responsible for the intellectual property team, and led global packaging design efforts for Fortune 100 Companies incorporating sustainable practices for manufacturing. From 1993-95 Angell was design department manager for National Cycle Inc., a maker of motorcycle original-equipment components for such firms as Harley-Davidson, Yamaha, BMW and Buelle.
He speaks on design issues nationally and internationally and holds multiple design and utility patents in numerous countries.
