Plastics software producer Moldflow Corp. has purchased a French maker of production-monitoring systems.
Moldflow paid about $800,000 cash to buy the assets of Controle Processus Industriels of Dampmart, France, in a deal announced Jan. 9. CPI provides equipment-monitoring systems to about 100 customers in French-speaking countries, said Ken Welch, Moldflow executive vice president for marketing and field services.
The acquisition provides some technology that can be used with existing Moldflow products, Welch said. ``We already are doing a lot of business in Europe,'' he said. ``This helps us grow that European base and puts our products in the French market.''
Publicly held Moldflow of Wayland provides production-monitoring systems and mold-simulation software. Moldflow recorded sales of $35.1 million for fiscal 2002, ended June 30.
