Clondalkin Group Holdings Ltd. bought a Florida plant that makes printed labels and die-cut lids for food and beverage, and the firm said its Old Saybrook-based film extruder and converter, Fortune Plastics Inc., is planning an expansion.
Clondalkin, a global flexible packaging producer based in Dublin, Ireland, has owned Fortune Plastics since 1987. Fortune is run as an independent division.
Since its acquisition, Fortune has grown from two to five manufacturing locations. The company announced it is planning an expansion, but released no details.
The Orlando, Fla., company purchased by Clondalkin is Spiralkote, formerly a division of Fleming Packaging Corp.
