East Penn Manufacturing Co. Inc. has received a $1.25 million loan to construct an injection molding facility in Lyon Station.
Construction of the 112,000-square-foot facility on the 11-acre site began within the past month and will be finished within 12 months.
The new facility will have six injection molding machines, said Chris Pruitt, senior vice president of finance.
East Penn, based in Lyon Station, has 11 plants in that city, including a plastics molding facility, according to the company's Web site.
Pruitt said the company is adding the new building to gain capacity. The company makes batteries, battery accessories, wire and cable.
The company has not decided if it will add jobs, and Pruitt declined to reveal the current number of employees.
East Penn has 15 years to repay the loan, which was granted by the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority.
