Raymond Kennedy, president and chief operating officer of Masco Corp., died Feb. 4 from a heart attack at his home in Bloomfield. He was 60.
Under Kennedy, the Taylor, Mich.-based company acquired many vinyl window firms, including Milgard Manufacturing Inc. in Tacoma, Wash. Last year Masco acquired three vinyl window firms in the United Kingdom, including extruder Duraflex Ltd.
``Ray was a leader who was loved, admired and respected by all who knew him,'' said Richard Manoogian, Masco's chairman and chief executive officer. ``He will be greatly missed by his family, many friends and business associates.''
Manoogian will step into Kennedy's position on an interim basis, officials said.
Kennedy spent his career in executive positions with building products firms. In addition to his role with Masco, Kennedy also served on the Home Building Industry Advisory Board.
