ASSOCIATION OF PLASTICS MANUFACTURERS IN EUROPE - The resin producers' trade group in Brussels, Belgium, named Axel Kistenmacher of Ludwigshafen, Germany-based BASF AG to manage research into the environmental impact of plastics packaging. He replaces Freddy Marechal. Also, Jean Schoemans of SOLVAY SA in Brussels was named director for research into life-cycle policy plus construction, electrical/electronics and plastics from renewable resources.
AUSTRIM NYLEX LTD. - The Melbourne, Australia-based processor named Glen Casey managing director and chief executive officer effective Feb. 1. Casey, who has been Austrim's chief operating officer for the past four months, also was appointed a director. He replaces former CEO Peter Crowley. Austrim Nylex makes consumer products, films, fabrics, sheet, hose, mesh and materials-handling products.
AUTOLIV INC. - The Stockholm, Sweden-based maker of automotive safety components named Koshiro Ono to its technical advisory board. Ono is executive chief researcher at the Japan Automobile Research Institute and visiting professor at Tokyo Institute of Technology.
BERRY PLASTICS CORP. - The injection molder in Evansville, Ind., named Larry Goldstein vice president of resin purchasing.
BRITISH VITA PLC - Richard Donnell has retired as chairman of the VTS sheet-making division of the Manchester, England-based company. He will not be replaced immediately, but David Marshall, business manager at the VTS Royalite subsidiary, has taken over responsibility for the VTS Doeflex, VTS Plastech and VTS Royalite operations.
CERTAINTEED CORP. - Brad Armstrong was named manufacturing director for the exterior products group of the Valley Forge, Pa., pipe and profile extruder.
CRANE PLASTICS CO. - The Columbus, Ohio-based extruder named Mike Crane president. Tanny Crane was named president and chief executive officer of Crane Group, the firm's investment arm, and recently was appointed to the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. Jim Ziminski was named president of Crane Performance Siding.
EIMO OYJ - The Lahti, Finland-based injection molder named Timo Harju interim chief executive officer following the resignation of Heikki Marttinen. Harju had been chief financial officer and deputy CEO.
ENERCON INDUSTRIES CORP. - The packaging equipment supplier in Menomonee Falls, Wis., named Mario Leonardelli vice president of engineering.
GEORG FISCHER AG - Chief Executive Officer Martin Huber will become chairman of the Schaffhausen, Switzerland-based pipe and auto parts company in March, following the retirement of Robert A. Jeker. Huber will be succeeded as CEO by Kurt Stirnemann. Yves Serra will join the Fischer executive committee with responsibility for Georg Fischer Piping Systems Ltd.

MILACRON INC. - The Cincinnati machinery maker named Jay Woerner vice president of global manufacturing and sourcing.
NISSEI AMERICA INC. - The Anaheim, Calif.-based injection press maker named Tomohiko Naito president. Masahiro Ueno, the former president, was named exports director.

REXAM PLC - Graham Chipchase was named finance director of the London-based packaging company. He replaces Michael Hartnell, who will retire in May.
