Style Solutions Inc. debuts crossheads
Style Solutions Inc. has moved into color and a new material with its injection molded, easy-to-install crossheads, which can be used for residential and commercial exterior window applications.
The product, molded from polypropylene, includes a ``living hinge'' that connects the front of the piece to the back installation plate, making installation faster and easier, officials said.
Style Solutions brought in new machinery for the product at its facilities in Archbold, Ohio, and is using outside vendors. Officials would not disclose details.
Sister company Hy-Lite Products Inc., based in Beaumont, Calif., introduced an injection molded Basement Hopper window, molded from polypropylene.
The product features a seamless tan or white frame that is molded in one piece with no corner welds or seams, to prevent leakage, rust and corrosion. Hy-Lite outsources the production.
CertainTeed fencing takes on aluminum
CertainTeed Corp. introduced its new ornamental composite fencing, called Bufftech, extruded from polypropylene and fiberglass.
Formulated to compete with aluminum, it's 60 percent stronger, officials said.
``What drove this is a need for black fence,'' said spokesman Peter Pitts.
CertainTeed manufactures Bufftech at its facility in Buffalo, N.Y., Pitts said.
