Donald Kliewer, owner of Winslow Industries Inc., died Jan. 9 from a stroke. He was 66.
Kliewer spent the past decade growing Monroe-based Winslow, an original equipment manufacturer of cross-overs for makers of specialty loudspeakers.
He was remembered by colleagues as a ``master at plastics, electronics and acoustical crafts,'' inventing hundreds of acoustical products for which he held more than 30 U.S. patents. Kliewer's designs included the acoustical tube headphone design for the airline industry. Officials said his basic closed-cup design still is in use.
He was a member of the Society of Plastic Engineers and numerous trade organizations for electronics.
