The Versa line of extrusion pullers and cutters has a new owner.
In July 2002, Davis-Standard Corp. sold its Versa line to Jeda Equipment Services Inc. of Indianapolis, which had handled sales and service for Davis-Standard and Versa products. Now a new firm, Versatile Automation Technologies Inc., bought Versa from Jeda on Jan. 1. Terms were not disclosed.
Versatile Automation Technologies will continue to operate Versa's 5,000-square-foot factory in Elkhart, which employs five. The firm will keep the Versa name, said Harry Washburn, vice president of sales and marketing.
The principal owners of Versatile Automation Technologies are Washburn, President Lewis Wadsworth and Louis Edie, vice president of manufacturing.
The company will build new equipment, offer technical support and sell replacement parts for Versa machines already in service.
