Edward Butcher, director of mergers and acquisitions with Stopol Business Services Inc. in Solon, died March 20 from a brain tumor. He was 64.
``The one thing that rang true is that he had ultrahigh integrity and honesty, and he was just an all-around great person who will be sorely missed,'' said Neil Kruschke Jr., Stopol's chief executive officer. ``He was an integral part of the mergers and acquisitions business.''
Butcher joined Stopol Business Services, a division of used equipment broker Stopol Inc., in 1996 and worked there until his death, Kruschke said. Butcher had held positions with machinery maker Van Dorn Demag Corp. of Strongsville, Ohio, and paint can manufacturer Brockway Standard Inc., where he served as vice president of administration in its Atlanta offices.
