Nissei Plastic Industrial Co. Ltd. has export sales of its tiny all-electric injection press, the Elject AU3E, with 3 tons of clamping force.
Nissei said the press has the world's smallest mold-clamping force, for micro-molding. It makes parts weighing 0.2 gram or less.
The press uses a screw to pre-plasticize and meter the resin, and a plunger to send the melt into the mold. The design uses two tie bars. The Nagano, Japan, company provides a special screw to allow precision molding of crystalline resin, often used in micro-molding.
Nissei's U.S. headquarters, Nissei America Inc., is in Anaheim, Calif.
