Milwaukee-based Sterling Inc. said its STK water treatment system provides chemical-free treatment of cooling tower and process water with no magnets, no rods and no high voltage.
STK recirculates cooling water through a patented system that removes carbonate scale, halts biological activity and controls corrosion.
In other news, Sterling named D&A Associates as its sales agency covering the New England region, including Maine, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Connecticut.
Sterling also introduced the Sterlco Royal series optical disc units, a multizone temperature controller for use with molds for the optical disc market.
Also, Sterling's Ball & Jewell division has added the BP series of strand pelletizers to its line of size-reduction equipment. Features include quick and easy clean-out, long production cycles and automatic running, with little need for operator attention.
The BP pelletizers come with in-feed widths of 6-32 inches, strand capacities of 30-180, and throughputs of up to 12,000 pounds an hour. A variety of rotor knives are available, including helical cutter, bolt-on knives and wedge held knives.
