Trinity Packaging Corp. plans layoffs at its Remington, Va., bag-making plant, according to a newspaper report.
The layoffs will occur between July 31 and Sept. 30 when the firm shuts down Remington's conversion and reprocessing departments, reported Fauquier (Va.) Citizen. About 200 are employed at the plant. A company official was quoted as saying Trinity has no plan to close the whole facility.
Trinity opened its third plant last year, a 250,000-square-foot film and bag operation in Rocky Mount, Va. The Armonk-based firm also recently expanded its Lewistown, Pa., operation by adding a 100,000-square-foot distribution center.
