GLC2k controller has six zones of control
Gammaflux LP has introduced a low-cost hot-runner temperature controller with up to six zones of control, called the GLC2k.
The price can be 20 percent less than the Gammaflux GLC temperature control system, according to the company in Sterling, Va.
The GLC2k is sold as a package, with a power cable, outputs and standard cables with connectors. Although some features found on the GLC have been removed, many popular GLC features are included as standard on the new controller, such as current measuring, operating limits and security levels.

Vaccon announces reversible pump
Vaccon Co. Inc. of Medfield, Mass., said its air-powered material transfer pump is designed to convey bulk materials such as pellets, complex shapes, small parts and continuous strips such as trim scrap from plastics, fabrics, textiles or metals.
The reversible pump is easy to unclog, the company said.
An operator manually presses a button on the pump, momentarily reversing air flow and dislodging the blockage. Releasing the button returns the airflow to its original direction.

Rafsec transponders embedded in plastic
Rafsec Oy of Tampere, Finland, has launched a family of transponders for injection molding.
The transponders are embedded into the plastic structure, making products such as ``smart'' crates and pallets. Rafsec said embedding the device is an improvement over traditional labels. The Rafsec units also stand up better to the chemicals used to wash and clean the pallets and crates.
Rafsec has a U.S. sales office in Westmont, Ill.
