Kistler Instrument Corp. of Amherst, N.Y., has developed a charge amplifier to support in-mold pressure sensors.
The Type 5155A charge amplifier conditions data to enable the proper transition from the injection phase to the holding phase. It is available in single-, two- or four-channel versions.
An optional internal module makes the unit a controller for automatic switchover at the optimum point. It is driven by the gradient in pressure rise that typically is sensed by a cavity-pressure sensor.
Temperature and viscosity are compensated to avoid a switchover that might happen too early or too late.
