Progressive Components Inc. (Booths S3210, N4143, N4342, E9304) will announce details on its new blow mold tooling-related product line at NPE in Chicago, set for June 23-27.
The line will include standardized products including blow needles, cylinders, leader pins, bushings and cooling components. Products featured at NPE will include the Blow Needle System and the Ejector Pin System. The systems include a needle or pin, already pre-fit to a cylinder, all in standard sizes.
In addition, the Wauconda company will offer patented, in-mold guillotine and deflashing systems, designed to provide significant cost savings by eliminating the need for secondary operations.
Blow mold components are new to Progressive, thanks to an agreement announced in April with Hobson Consulting Ltd., a company set up by Gerald Hobson, former owner of Hobson Mould Works Inc. Progressive bought 15 patents and four trademarks from the now-defunct Shell Rock, Iowa, mold maker.
While blow mold-related products are new this year, Progressive still will offer its established, standardized tooling components for the injection, die-cast die and stamping die industries. New products in those sectors include:
* ProV-2, the next generation of Progressive's mold-monitoring products. The ProV-2 system advances CounterView on-mold cycle counters and ProFile mold-management software, and introduces ProFile PDA.
* ISO/DIN standard ejection and alignment components for injection mold tooling.
In addition, Progressive's Specials and Customs program has been changed to offer expedited deliveries for nonstandard items, available on a just-in-time basis.
The company will have four booths at NPE, with the main one at N4143 in the North Hall.
