A banquet June 26 during NPE 2003 will honor six new members of the Plastics Hall of Fame. A highlight of NPE, the ceremony will be held at the Chicago Hilton & Towers.
Keynote speaker will be Craig Naylor, group vice president of the Performance Materials unit of Wilmington, Del.-based DuPont Co.
New inductees into the Plastics Hall of Fame include experts on blow molding soft drink and dairy bottle packaging and early plastics machinery, a trade association activist, the author of 25 technical books - and the man who set up Monsanto's House of the Future at Disneyland.
New Plastics Hall of Fame inductees are: Samuel L. Belcher, F. Reed Estabrook Jr., Michael F.X. Gigliotti, John R. Kretzschmar, Dominick V. Rosato and Albert Spaak. Profiles of the six men start on Page 23 of this issue.
The National Plastics Center and Museum in Leominster, Mass., where the hall is based, will display information on each new member. The Plastics Academy administers the Plastics Hall of Fame.
Tickets for the event, Thursday night during NPE 2003, cost $300 per person. The banquet begins at the Hilton with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is at 7:30 p.m., with the induction ceremony to follow at 8:30 p.m.
NPCM is selling tickets at its NPE booth in the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. pavilion, in the McCormick Place Grand Concourse.
