CHICAGO (June 23, 9 p.m. EDT) — Hot-runner manufacturer Synventive Molding Solutions has formed new technology partnerships with Milacron Inc. and RJG Inc. to broaden the reach of its Dynamic Feed system.
The company will put its Dynamic Feed process-control software onto RJG's quality-control system, said Mark Moss, senior vice president of Synventive (Booth S1038), at NPE 2003. Traverse City, Mich.-based RJG (Booth S216) will use the package with its system to help monitor parts production from individual cavities to lower cycle times, Moss said.
The company has a similar agreement with mold-simulation software maker Moldflow Corp. (Booth S862) to use its hot-runner controls with Moldflow's Plastic Xpert system. The agreement with Wayland, Mass.-based Moldflow was signed earlier this year.
Another large step in the growth of the Dynamic Feed system would be its introduction on Cincinnati-based Milacron's all-electric presses. The companies are working on a system that would add the Dynamic Feed hot-runner system and controls to a Milacron (Booth S1640) injection press, Moss said. The work with Milacron still is in development, with no date planned for the system launch, he added.
Synventive also has reintroduced the Kona name to its customers. The company once was known as Kona Hot Runners before changing its name in 2001 to Synventive. A new line of hot-runner products that use Synventive's Heat Pipe and MultiZone technology will be offered under the Kona name.
