Coperion Corp. (Booth N5516) has developed a computer-aided barrel-measuring device for precise barrel-bore measuring on twin-screw extruders.
The device allows a processor to determine the surface condition and degree of wear without having to dismantle the barrel. Processors can make timely decisions on when to replace a barrel.
The measuring device is part of an expanded service program Coperion is offering. Other aspects of the program include plant and machine inspection by experienced technicians; an equipment leasing program to allow continued production when a machine or component is being replaced or repaired; and training seminars at Coperion or the customer's facility.
Coperion is a major extrusion and compounding equipment supplier formed by the merger in 2000 of Buss, Waeschle and Werner & Pfleiderer.
