Liquid Control Corp. (Booth N4330) has made its first international acquisition.
The North Canton, Ohio, maker of meter, mix and dispensing equipment acquired Liquid Control Ltd., based in Wellingborough, England. The two companies previously had a licensing agreement, but otherwise were not related.
``This opens the door for global selling,'' said Erin Crowe, marketing communications coordinator. ``World headquarters will remain in North Canton.''
The deal closed earlier this month. Terms were not revealed.
David Valentin, managing director and primary owner of Liquid Control Ltd., is retiring, making way for the consolidation, officials said. He will stay on as a consultant for one year.
Liquid Control Ltd. has operated one facility in Wellingborough for more than 30 years, where it served markets very similar to the U.S. group's sectors.
William Schiltz, chairman and chief executive officer of Liquid Control Corp., licensed Posiload pump technology from Valentin's firm when it began operating in 1975, officials said.
Liquid Control Ltd. employs about 30, according to the Applegate Directory, an Internet directory for manufacturing businesses in the United Kingdom. Liquid Control Corp. operates one facility each in North Canton and Palm City, Fla., employing about 100.
The firm's operating units include Liquid Control Decker for polyurethane processing equipment and ProFil Corp., specializing in contract resin dispensing and repackaging services.
